Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major threat to people living with HIV (PLHIV) in
Argentina. Despite robust scientific evidence supporting the implementation of TB
preventive therapy (TPT) in this group, its adoption in clinical practice within the
country remains limited. This article discusses the need to detect and treat TB infection
in PLHIV in Argentina and proposes an operational strategy for the implementation of
TPT in this population. It concludes that establishing a comprehensive system for
screening, treatment, and information recording in PLHIV is essential.
