Dengue virus infections during pregnancy are on the increase, in line with the rise in cases in general population of this arboviral disease, which has the highest global burden. The maternal-fetal implications that dengue causes during pregnancy show heterogeneous evidence, with studies primarily focused on the third trimester and peripartum period, and few assessing associated risk factors or leading to anatomo-pathological studies. We describe a case of a pregnant woman with risk factors who aquired the infection during the second trimester, resulting in a fatal outcome for the fetus, and in whom an anatomo-pathological study of the ovular remains revealed deciduitis and sub-amniotic hemorrhage.
